We already knew that the next version of Android has been named KitKat. What we didn't know was the release date.
A source at the version's Facebook page gives us an idea of when to expect the update.
The release date for the Android 4.4 KitKat update has been scheduled for October. This came from those in control of the KitKat social media page on Facebook.
Earlier this month, Google announced that it would be release a new Android update to succeed Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Instead of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the company announced Android 4.4 KitKat, one of the few softwares that whole official, has no piece of information regarding its specs.
However, we do know that the update is a partnership with Nestle (USA) and it's candy, the KitKat bar.
Android 4.4 KitKat will hopefully be coming in October.
Whoever is behind the KitKat Facebook page in Germany has suggested that the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be made available at some point in October.
The account confirms this to be the case multiple times and it even references Android 4.4.
The person behind this account most likely has some official information that, from the look of things, isn't meant to be a secret, or they could simply be going off of rumors that suggest that a Nexus 5 will be released alongside Android 4.4 KitKat in October.

Rumors suggest an October 14th launch for both hardware and software which could mean a release inside the month of October as the Facebook comments suggest.
Little or nothing else is known about the Android 4.4 KitKat update though rumors suggest that it could bring updates for older devices, fragmentation changes including screen resizing, Miracle updates, color changes and new notification widgets.
