The reason why I have been absent for so long is this; I had to round up my school program and I had little or no time for myself talk less of blogging - working on my final year project and all that. 
 
Anyways I am back and I am back for good. 
 
I would want to start by giving a simple guide on how to set a music track as your preferred ringtone on your android device. Believe it or not, there are folks out there having this issue. I could hardly believe it when I was asked how to do that. 
 So how do I set a music track as my preferred ringtone? 
 
Here are three ways to do that. Any of these three ways should do the job well. 
 
 
1) Using File Explorers 
<ul>
<li> Download and install ES file explorer or any other file explorer.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Go to your Sound Settings on your phone.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Where you're asked to select a track to use as ringtone there'll be an option to use ES file explorer (or the one you downloaded) and Media Storage</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Select ES file explorer (or the one you downloaded).</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Then you can select the track you want.</li>
</ul>
 
2) Using Music Payers 
<ul>
<li>Some music players (e.g Poweramp) have the option to set a track as ringtone.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>If you have Poweramp (or any other music player with this capability), hold down the track then you'll see a menu, select Set as Ringtone.</li>
</ul>
 
 
3) Creating a Folder 
<ul>
<li>Make a folder named "Ringtones" on your SD card.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Paste the song you wish to use in that folder.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>It should show up there.</li>
</ul>

While wonders would never end... Blackberry has recently been adding it's fair share of the wonders to the smartphone community. 
Recently, Blackberry  OS10.2 has added support of Android apps to it's present features. To be honest with you, this came as a surprise to me as it would anybody reading this right now. 
 
The truth be told: Blackberry is only offering support for android apps (usually having the extension .apk) and nothing more. So, no Google Play on Blackberry OS 10.2 yet. 
It does not mean Blackberry 10 is now an Android OS neither does it mean you can find the Android apps you like, or want on the Blackberry App World.

What this means eventually is that if you happen to "be in love" with any of the apps on your friend's Android phone, you would have to 
 
<ol>
<li> source for the apk yourself or</li>
<li> ask your friend to send you the apk.</li>
</ol>
 
 
Blackberry is however taking a proactive measure to ensure that no one holds them liable for any damage. They have attached a disclaimer to every app installation. 
 
So to all Blackberry 10 users, enjoy Android while it lasts.

Android's New KitKat OS Rumoured To Be Released On October!

We already knew that the next version of Android has been named KitKat. What we didn't know was the release date.
A source at the version's Facebook page gives us an idea of when to expect the update. 
The release date for the Android 4.4 KitKat update has been scheduled for October. This came from those in control of the KitKat social media page on Facebook.
Earlier this month, Google announced that it would be release a new Android update to succeed Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Instead of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, the company announced Android 4.4 KitKat, one of the few softwares that whole official, has no piece of information regarding its specs. 
However, we do know that the update is a partnership with Nestle (USA) and it's candy, the KitKat bar.

Android 4.4 KitKat will hopefully be coming in October. 
Whoever is behind the KitKat Facebook page in Germany has suggested that the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be made available at some point in October.
The account confirms this to be the case multiple times and it even references Android 4.4. 
The person behind this account most likely has some official information that, from the look of things, isn't meant to be a secret, or they could simply be going off of rumors that suggest that a Nexus 5 will be released alongside Android 4.4 KitKat in October. 
According to Nestle, the Android 4.4 KitKat update is due next month nd with a Nexus 5 launch 
date in October, the new Nexus 
smartphone is likely to have 
Android 4.4 KitKat aboard. 
Rumors suggest an October 14th launch for both hardware and software which could mean a release inside the month of October as the Facebook comments suggest.
Little or nothing else is known about the Android 4.4 KitKat update though rumors suggest that it could bring updates for older devices, fragmentation changes including screen resizing, Miracle updates, color changes and new notification widgets.

Blackberry Announces Suspension of BBM For Android

After <a href="http://www.daechuzzy.com/2013/09/working-bbm-for-android-with-download.html">leaks of the BBM app apk</a> yesterday, Blackberry have announced the suspension of the big rollout of BBM for Android. 
In case you don't know,  the app which was supposed to be launched for Android (by 12noon Nigerian time) on the Google Playstore didn't show up. 
While it's counterpart BBM for iOS was released in some countries, it's rollout will also be suspended! 
The reason for the suspension is that more than 1.1 million users have already downloaded the leaked app causing some instabilities and hence a halt in the launch of the app. 
BlackBerry claimed to have been working all day to fix the problems caused by the leak but to no avail. 
Those who have already downloaded the iOS app would still be able to use it but the Android app would be suspended. Too bad:(... 
However, Blackberry now plans to stage a staggered country rollout for BBM on Android and do a fresh rollout for iOS. 
The company has also remained silent concerning the date of this new staggered rollout. 
BBM for iOS and Android was announced back in May at the BlackBerry Live conference, and the company had committed to a launch before the end of this summer. 
Thanks to the leaked apk, the set time frame no longer seems  attainable.

The wait is over. The official BBM for Android is now working but unfortunately is not yet available on the Google Play Store. 
A number of links gave been springing up here and there but I noticed that most of them have been taken down due to excessive traffic from anxious Android users. 
Some links are still up and running, though I just have one right now and I've decided to share it with you.

This is great news for all BBM fans on Android and iOS. The Canadian smartphone maker, Blackberry has finally and officially announced the roll out date of Blackberry Messenger for Android and iOS. 
The official roll out date of Blackberry Messenger for Android has been announced to be the 21st of September(7 am EDT which is 12 noon Nigerian time) while those on the iOS mobile platform are to have the BBM for iOS app 5 hours later (12 noon EDT which is 5 pm Nigerian time). 
This is closely following the leak of the BBM for Android app released earlier this week (thanks to folks over at XDA). 
For Android users, you might want to note that the BBM for android is not for all android users as the app  will be available for free download and installation on Android phones running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean OS versions only. 
For iOS users, the app would be available in the App Market for iOS 6 and 7 users only. So if you have not done your update, it's about time to do some homework ;). 
The Blackberry Messenger was previously developed solely for Blackberry smartphones, but now it would be made available on the iOS and Android mobile platforms for free download. Alternatively, you can download it from the <a href="http://ca.blackberry.com/bbm.html">Blackberry</a>. 
Some of the features to expect include :
1) The BBM Chat to enjoy real time conversations on  BBM with your friends on Android.

7 Ways To Bypass Any Android Device's Lock Screen!

You have probably been looking for a way to bypass your Android lock screen and might ask, Why on earth would I want to do that? 
One reason could be solely for educational purpose (you just want to know how). The other reason could be because you probably forgot your password and you don't want to go through hard reseting your device. 
Hard reseting your device is very disadvantageous because once you hard reset, you lose all of your customizations, settings and stuffs. This would naturally take you back to square zero (yeah right! Definitely not square one) . :-D 
 
I have been looking for surefire ways to bypass android lock screen for a while now. Ways that are different from the <a href="http://www.daechuzzy.com/2013/08/tutorials-how-to-unlock-locked-android.html">methods I published</a>. And after doing some pretty good Googling, I came across this forum thread that  gave some tutorials on how to bypass android locks screen. And Yes! Seven different ways to do that. 
 
Most of these methods however require you to have: 
1) USB debugging turned on. 
2) Access to a computer. 
 
One particularly interesting method (method 3) explains how to bypass lock screen by sending an SMS to the phone you want to bypass it's lock screen. But before you can use that method, you'ld need to have: 
 
1) <a href="http://www.daechuzzy.com/2013/08/android-rooting-what-it-is-advantages.html">Root access on the device</a>. This means that your phone should be rooted. Don't know what rooting is? <a href="http://www.daechuzzy.com/2013/08/android-rooting-what-it-is-advantages.html">See here</a>! 
 
2)  Installed an application-SMS Bypass (which requires root access) before the lock screen incident that's before you forget your lock screen password, pattern or pin. If your device is not rooted, it simply won't work. 
You might also want to note that the instructions concerning adb can be carried out using command prompt for Windows PC users.

Okay, so you have an application on your Android device and it's so cool that you just can't bring yourself to stop talking about it.
Now you don’t stop there, you actually go ahead to tell your friends and colleagues about this 'so cool' application. 
Great! You've told them about the app and they've asked you, 'how do I get this app'? You start telling them to 'Google it'! 
Really? Is there no better way to share this really awesome android app you've got with your friends without necessarily having to Google it or visit the Google Playstore? 
Well, I've got some pretty good news for you. You can! 
Ya, if you remember the glory days of Symbian, those days are here again but this time on Android! 
You can do the same very same thing on Android and with much more ease. All you need to do is:
1) <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yschi.MyAppSharer&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dmyappsharer">Download and install</a> the MyAppSharer from the Google Playstore. 
2) Open the My App Sharer on your phone, select the type of app file you want to share (apk or download link) from the top of the app. In this case we are interested in the apk. 
So, select apk.

3) Scroll through the list of applications available on your device, select the one you want to share. You can also select as many apps as possible to share. 
4) Then click on Share at the top right corner of the app' s interface.

Yesterday, the 16th of September, there was a leak of the BBM for Android. The leak contained screen shots of the app and links to the application's apk download page. 
But before I could lay my hands on the apk, it had already been taken down by Blackberry. 
I know they've got reasons for doing that, though I wonder how the leak came out. 
The leak was on the <a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446528">XDA developers</a> forum which provided a download link to <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/fo8sdg8axt3a5oq/com.bbm.apk">Media Fire</a>. Like I said before, the file has been taken down. 
I did some research later on and accidentally stumbled on a site with an active download link. 
Well, just in case you want to see what the BBM app looks like, I have a provided a link below this post which has the BBM apk download embedded within. 
You might want to note two things though:
1) The application is pretty much useless and I think it's because Blackberry has not officially launched it. They might need to fire up their Blackberry servers to support Android devices or other technical stuffs dey need to do. 
2) The application might not work on an Android OS below Ice Cream Sandwich. So if you own a device with Honeycomb OS or lower, you might as well not bother wasting your precious data to download the apk file.
